According to the Biblical Calendar, evening is the beginning of the day — rooted in Genesis 1:5. God walked in the Garden "when the cool evening breezes were blowing." This is when He releases His Plan and Destiny for our lives. Before Jesus chose His disciples, He prayed all night beginning at this watch. Pray for direction, deliverance, healing, and restoration of relationships. Jesus had Communion with His disciples during this watch, establishing the New Covenant.

Deep darkness characterizes this hour in the natural — and in the spiritual realm, diabolical and demonic assignments are set in motion. This is the time intercessors can impact the spiritual realm before the enemy gets started. Pray persistently to stop evil from rising, cover your family, church, city, and nation. God releases His righteous judgments at midnight against those who oppose His plans.

This is the darkest and most demonic part of the night — when those in the occult are at peak activity and the devil tries to kill, steal, and destroy. Yet it is also the watch when God speaks through dreams and visions during deep REM sleep (Job 33:15). Revivals throughout history have been birthed in this watch. Declare Psalm 91:5–6 over your life and stand watch against satanic attacks on your family, marriage, and community.

This is the last watch of the night — when God manifests His unsurpassed greatness. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ occurred during this watch. Jesus walked on water to His disciples at this hour. Jesus and King David both arose during this watch to pray and set the course of their days. Speak God's Word over your day, declare the enemy's schemes null and void, gain territory, establish prosperity, and stop the devil from hijacking God's blessing.

This is the time to pray that Jesus Christ will be glorified in your life, to ask God for strength for your workday, and to intercede for family and government leaders. This is when God directs His people into their victories — as shown when Elisha prophesied water and triumph for the allied kings, and when Jehoshaphat led his army in praise and God sovereignly defeated the enemy. Be intentional: ask for specific direction into victory.

Jesus was crucified at 9:00 AM — this watch is specifically focused on Him. Honor His sacrifice and surrender the works of the flesh. At this same hour on the Day of Pentecost, 120 followers in the upper room experienced the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God causes the miraculous to happen through routine moments in this watch. Set your important meetings and appointments here — this is the hour of divine favor and supernatural resources.

The sun is at its brightest — and God's love shone brightest when Jesus went to the Cross from the sixth to the ninth hour (Matthew 27:45). Because of the Cross, we have continual access to God's presence — the Secret Place. This is the time to rest completely in God's faithfulness, avoid temptation, and thank God for bringing you from darkness to light. Midday prayer keeps you aligned with your calling. When we rest, God reveals His plans. You don't lack in God's rest.

Jesus died on the Cross at 3:00 PM during this watch. This is always the hour to make a conscientious decision to "die to self" — surrendering pride and flesh to Christ who lives in you (Galatians 2:20). Peter and John exercised Kingdom authority during this watch when they healed a man lame from birth at the Temple gate (Acts 3:1–8). Pray for mercy and humility — pride is an enemy to answered prayer. Walk in the authority Christ has given you.
